Johnson
Vastly improved and making me eat my words.

He seems to have bulked a bit as well.

“Less of a crossing threat than Coufal”

More of a goal threat though.

Re: Johnson
Would still have Coufal as first choice but Johnson has really upped a level of late. Less of a crossing threat than Coufal but his passing is getting better with the longer run in the team. Good that he had the confidence to try a few shots of late as well.

Added bonus of being an academy graduate as well.

I also think Fredericks is judged a bit harshly by some - has never let us down, but definitely third choice at right back now.

Re: Johnson
Bit harsh on Fredericks, injuries has played a big part in his problems.

I think he's a decent squad player to have, personally.

Re: Johnson
I like Frederiks. Good squad player although Johnson has overtaken him now.

We need the LB position to have the same competition as the RB sot.

Loved that interview, love that they just seem to be having so much fun, they dont take themselves to seriously. In fact I love all our interviews at the moment, the team spirit is second to none in the league IMHO.

Re: Johnson
Masuaka and Fredericks only work in a 5 / wingback scenario....

They are not very good full backs.

Re: Johnson
I reckon Fredericks is better playing as a winger (or even wing back) than a traditional full back role. I'd see his role in the squad as a deputy for Bowen (especially if Bowen has to cover for Antonio up front) rather than a third choice right back.

Better people change their minds about a player than adopt the Come On You Irons approach

Re: Johnson
I was talking about Cresswell, Johnson and Coufal.

I should have said I wasn't talking about Ashby, because I haven't seen enough to have an opinion.

Didn't think I needed to exclude Masuaku and Fredericks, since I was praising the players' great quality, which automatically excludes them.

Although Fredericks is probably good enough to keep for the possibility that two of the three are injured, or need a rest.

Isn’t Johnson out of contract in the summer?

Lily Hammer 4:57 Mon Nov 8
Re: Johnson
Left foot, right foot, fast, can defend, shoot, and seems to improve a bit with each match. He is doing a Declan. That’s why I beamed with pride when him and Rice were interviewed together after Villa with face splitting grins on their faces.

Bright futures, hopefully in claret and blue for a long long time.

Re: Johnson
It’s those cross field balls with his weaker foot.

Some serious technique there.

2 out of 3 of them were there yesterday!

Anyone else occasionally say go on Glenn instead of Ben? I do.

Re: Johnson
He's doing great, teams are deliberately targeting him and he's coming through with flying colours. Aint so good on the ball and offers little going forward but obvious improvement every game is clearly happening in these areas. Feel a bit sorry for Fredericks who has done well when required this season but he aint gonna get a sniff now.

Good for the lad though. What a time to be a young West Ham player.

Re: Johnson
I think he means Coufal, Cresswell and Johnson.

Although I don’t think Fredericks is as bad as he is made out to be.
